Filed under: Crafting for a Cure Events — craftingforacure @ 5:23 pm

It’s that time of year again….we’re ready to start our crafty fundraising  efforts!  Last year’s event was a great success and we were so happy to have made a contribution to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.   In keeping with the spirit of aiding those organizations who greatly impact the lives of our children and so many others, we’ve selected Every Body Counts Physical Therapy as the focus of our 2009 Fundraiser. EBC Physical Therapy is a full service Outpatient Clinic specializing in integrating Hippotherapy into treatment plans.  Additionally, EBC offers Theraputic Riding lessons and the Healing Touch technique as part of their integrated approach to patient care.

What a fabulous time we had hosting our 2nd Crafting for a Cure Fundraiser this past weekend! A whopping $1,683 was raised and we couldn’t be more proud!  We had a really great group of ladies join us for a day filled with crafting, food, fun and tons of charity! In addition to the usual crew of paper loving scrapbookers, we were happy to welcome some new knitting, quilting, and sewing friends. Our raffle table was a huge hit and it was so nice to see the raffle bags fill up with tickets throughout the day. Some of our lovely friends even stopped by for a visit and to stock up on raffle tickets! Our hearts are so full right now and we want to thank everyone 1,683 times for helping to support our cause, and especially for helping us honor Miss Erin!

Sneak Preview… May 3, 2007

With a little over a week to go until our very exciting 1st fundraiser, we thought we would take a few moments to give you all a sneak preview of things to come! We were beyond excited to land the services of a very talented local chef, Tony C., who has generously donated his time and expertise for our event. For breakfast you can expect a lovely continental spread featuring danishes, croissants, biscuits, bagels and, of course, plenty of toppings. You will gladly want to take a break from your crafting activities to partake in his mouth-watering lunch as well! The menu consists of delicious Crepe Quiche Loraine with Petit Salad, Blue Bayou Salad, and scrumptious California Chicken Salad Wraps.

We will be serving coffee, teas, soda and water throughout the day, and we will have snack stations set up to help keep your energy levels high during the afternoon. Many thanks to all of our friends who have generously offered to bring various baked goods, veggie trays and chips. If you would like to contribute any baked goods or beverages, please drop us a line at craftingforacure@yahoo.com.

We have also received several fantastic donations that will be used as our silent auction items. Our friends and family really came through for us and whipped out some gorgeous homemade items and we can’t thank them enough! You’ll have an opportunity to win a beautiful handwoven basket, a funky-fun knit scarft, a gorgeous framed Mother’s Day scrapbook layout, an adorable Winnie the Pooh mini quilt, and many other great items! Your goody bags will contain 2 free tickets, and you will have the opportunity to buy additional tickets throughout the event. In addition to several handmade items, we will have some fun items from Creative Memories, Big Yellow Box, Avon, Usborne Books, and others!
Here’s a little peek at some of the goodies:

March of Dimes WalkAmerica March 10, 2007

Filed under: Crafting for a Cure Events — craftingforacure @ 8:46 pm

March of Dimes WalkAmerica was recently selected as the first recipient of our Crafting for a Cure fundraising efforts! 2 of our founding mommies, Gina and Doulla, have been active participants in the WalkAmerica events for the past 3 years. Being mommies of amazingly resilient, prematurely born baby boys, they know firsthand how much of an impact the ongoing research and dedicated support the March of Dimes can have on families dealing with neonatal issues. Their babies benefitted greatly from numerous medical advances made possible by MOD research. It is a true honor to be able to give something back to such a fantastic organization who gave us so much!
