Filed under: Crafting for a Cure Events — craftingforacure @ 7:36 pm

2008 is well under way and we are finally ready to announce our next Crafting for a Cure Charity Event! Last year’s event was a great success and we were so happy to have made a contribution to the March of Dimes’ efforts. This year’s Spring Fundraiser will benefit the fine folks at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of our little Miss Erin…an amazing 2 year old sweetheart who is personally affected by CF. We will be sharing her story with you shortly and hope that you’ll be able to join us in our efforts to give a little back to the Foundation who is working tirelessly to give so much to her and others affected by CF. The details:

Hello all and many apologies for such a lag in entries! We are beginning to work out the details for our next Crafting For a Cure event and will be sending out Save the Date reminders in the next month or so. We are considering the last weekend in January as our time, hopefully the same fabulous church as our location, and our charity will be the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We are very much looking forward to coming together with our friends and neighbors for this amazing cause and we hope to have another great, successful day! Stay tuned!

Sneak Preview… May 3, 2007

With a little over a week to go until our very exciting 1st fundraiser, we thought we would take a few moments to give you all a sneak preview of things to come! We were beyond excited to land the services of a very talented local chef, Tony C., who has generously donated his time and expertise for our event. For breakfast you can expect a lovely continental spread featuring danishes, croissants, biscuits, bagels and, of course, plenty of toppings. You will gladly want to take a break from your crafting activities to partake in his mouth-watering lunch as well! The menu consists of delicious Crepe Quiche Loraine with Petit Salad, Blue Bayou Salad, and scrumptious California Chicken Salad Wraps.

We will be serving coffee, teas, soda and water throughout the day, and we will have snack stations set up to help keep your energy levels high during the afternoon. Many thanks to all of our friends who have generously offered to bring various baked goods, veggie trays and chips. If you would like to contribute any baked goods or beverages, please drop us a line at craftingforacure@yahoo.com.

We have also received several fantastic donations that will be used as our silent auction items. Our friends and family really came through for us and whipped out some gorgeous homemade items and we can’t thank them enough! You’ll have an opportunity to win a beautiful handwoven basket, a funky-fun knit scarft, a gorgeous framed Mother’s Day scrapbook layout, an adorable Winnie the Pooh mini quilt, and many other great items! Your goody bags will contain 2 free tickets, and you will have the opportunity to buy additional tickets throughout the event. In addition to several handmade items, we will have some fun items from Creative Memories, Big Yellow Box, Avon, Usborne Books, and others!
Here’s a little peek at some of the goodies:
